about

This song was birthed from a guitar riff that Jonathan and I kept playing with when he came out to the west coast for the first time. We knew that we would never get it out of our heads if we didn't turn it into a song and lay it down. It ended up turning out so strong that we knew immediately to use it as an opening track for the album. I had never pushed my vocals this way in a 'pop' song before, and I was surprised with the raw sound that this all came out with.
